Default Alternative account for when occasionally using mobile WiF dongle

When mobile & not connected to broadband or a wireless hot-spot,
I have a Mobile 3 dongle to connect via WiFi.

Initially, I could RECEIVE but not SEND, so I set-up a 2nd account with mobile 3's outgoing smtp server name - and it SENDs from that a/c OK.

And if I remember to select the right account when Sending !! - all works OK,

But if I forget & just press Reply - it selects the default account - and sits in the Outbox until I notice that it hasn't sent successfully.

Is there a better way?
For instance,
Is there an alert when a mail fails to send?
Is there a way of running a rule on the outbox and changing accounts?
Can one set an 'alternative' server (for if 1st fails)?

I am running Outlook 2010 on Laptop with Vista

thanks
