I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and thought I would upgrade Office too.
However, in Outlook I have my normal email, my hotmail and it also shows "google mail". There are over 7000 emails in a sub folder of Google Mail called "All Mail". This folder contains email from everywhere and if I delete they simply keep coming back. I have checked account settings and there is nothing for GMail, or Google Mail....in fact I don't even use Google Mail and have closed my Google account to try and fix. I can't delete the folders either. Any ideas? Thanks |

Are you unable to remove the account from your Outlook program?

I can't seem to find it anywhere to remove. When I look at accounts all I see is my NTL account (Virgin Media) and my Hotmail account. I only see this annoying folder in the list on the left hand side.

From the information you have provided, it seems this is not a default folder of Gmail and Outlook 2010.
- Do you have any rules, forwarding or filtering mail to this folder? If so try removing these rules. - Do you have mail forwarding going to your old G mail account? This really should continue filtering email into the folder but may show why you are still receiving Google mail. - Do you have any other Devices /Computers still configured to your old Google mail account? Some of the following command line switches may fix your issue also. Please use caution when performing these, and be sure to use one at a time. Windows Vista/7:
Switches: - /cleanrules = Starts Outlook and deletes all client-based and server-based rules. - /resetnavpane = Clears and regenerates the Navigation Pane. - /resetsharedfolders = Removes all shared folders from the Navigation Pane. (Lastly try opening Outlook in safe mode and remove the folder) -/safe = Starts Outlook with all extensions turned off and without Reading Pane or toolbar customizations. Hope this information helps you get that pesky folder off your Outlook. |

Thanks for the help.
Tried all of those and nothing works. The strange thing is that under my primary mail account (ntlworld) I have Inbox and Deleted. Nothing else. Then this folder called Google Mail with the sub folders, including this pesky "All Mail" which has email sent to my NTLworld, hotmail account and everything that gets spam filtered. My standard "sent items" is also under "Google Mail" When I delete all the items in this folder, before they return I get a message saying "there was an error in synchronising your offline changes. Some of the offline changes you made since you last connected to the server may have been lost" I have also removed my primary (ntlworld) account and that got rid of the Google Mail folder. I then readded and it simply came back and repopulated. EDIT: I have found a way to get rid of the "All Mail" folder, buy running a query and unsubscribing from Google Mail/All Mail, but I can't lose the "Google Mail" folder as it says it is special and I can't unsubscribe. Oh well, at least I have done most of what I wanted. Thanks for the help ![]() I don't use any other computers, though this is a new build. I do not use Google Mail and am very frustrated!!!! |
