Cut and pasted a page, subpages did not paste. Where did they go.

Default Cut and pasted a page, subpages did not paste. Where did they go.
And more to the point, how do I get them back? Undo does not go back that far. When I pasted, I got the main page, but none of the subpages.

Found it! It went to the next page above it.
