This concerns 1N 2013:
I understand that the notebook of which you are currently looking at a page, is supposed to be bold in the notebook pane so you can see quickly which notebook you are in. However, on my PC the active notebook is not in bold. Can this be changed?

As far as I know the only bold you will see is the name of the notebook when it is not synchronized. By default the workbook you are working in is displayed at the top of the notebook pane. This is not bold faced displayed (at least not in my OneNote 2013)

My notebooks are not synchronised & yet the one I am working in is not bold. Besides, according to what I have read, irrespective of it being synchronised or not, the title active notebook (i.e. the one one is currently working in) in the left hand pane should always be in bold.

Ok, i will try a couple of different devices to see if I have the same scenario.

Update: well I could not reproduce what you are looking for so I went to the experts. I attended the Microsoft Ignite conference in Chicago and so was the OneNote team. So I decided to ask this question and see if they had an answer. They told me that the name of the notebook is only bold when changes to the book are made and when it should be synchronized. It is not bold when it is the active book you are working in. They said it should be an issue with the persons OneNote installation.

I know not the answer what you wanted to hear but that's all I can come up with. Sorry!

Maurice, thank you very much for the special effort you made to help me. I understand a bit better how it works.
I think it would be useful to have the name of the active notebook in bold under all circumstances, but that is not for us to decide.

Well to be honest the only bit of info that is promising is that they are looking into reminders from OneNote set to your device. That's a long time wish from many users. The overall experience of the conference was a little disappointing. Chicago is fantastic though!
