Hi themausman & thank you for your response. I think there may have been some misunderstanding.

The shifting of notes occurs IN onenote. The PDF with the shifted characters was exported after the onenote file got messed up inside onenote; I exported it just to show the comparison at the same page in a PDF.

Also, some pages get shifted in onenote even when I do not export them at all.
