Hi everyone,
I have a shared Onenote notebook that my team uses. We have one section of the notebook password protected. One member of my team is unable to access the protected section. Each time he tries it gives him the error message that the password is incorrect. I have tried resetting the password and removing the share notebook from his Onenote and reopening it with no change. I am not too familiar with how Onenote stores passwords or how it is checking what a user enters versus what the password is, but it seems like it is breaking somewhere in that part. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank You |

Try reversing the process. Remove the password and let that one user set a password on that section from his environment. Check to see if you can access it from your device.

Wanted to update this thread with the resolution that we stumbled onto.
My co-worker killed his Onenote session (completely from Task Manager) and then found some cache files that Onenote had created (some were quite old). After deleting the cache files, he is now able to access the protected section. |

Thank you for reporting back the solution. Did you clear the cache via OneNote or via the Windows Explorer?
