All Office applications open in Compatiblity mode

Over the last few weeks, Word and Excel have been opening up in compatbility mode. The files created were created using those very programs. Now, I noticed that mulitple word and excel programs opened in the task manager when nothing is opened on my desk top. I am starting to get resource issues.

As of last night, I can not open a file without an issue. Now, the file opens, and then goes to Non-Responding. Can't print, save or creat a new file.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am using Win 7 64-Bit.
