I have downloaded Office 2003 SP3. During the installation it wants to find the file "SKU1CA.cab" from the original office 2003 installation disks.
I have the 2 disk office 2003 CDs complete with holographic surfaces and SP3 install cannot find SKU1CA.cab. I have tried to find the .cab with explorer and no luck. Thanks in advance for your help. Mystified1 |

Hi Mystified1,
When the SP3 update asks for the SKU1CA.cab file, all you should need to do is to swap the original installation media (for Office Small Business Edition 2003) into your CD/DVD drive.

Please re-read my post.
I did put the original office 2003 biz edition CDs in my CD drive and the install program can't find the .cab on either CD. When I used explorer to try to find the .cab on the original install disks the file was not found. Does anyone know of a work-around? |

Hi Mystified1,
Your original post made no mention of which version of Office 2003 you were using. The problem description you gave suggested you might be trying to apply the update using the wrong set of installation disks, since SKU1CA.cab is only found in the Small Business Edition. If you are indeed trying to update the Small Business Edition, another possible cause is that you're trying to apply the update on an original (pre SP1) Windows XP network. Again, you haven't said whether that might be the case. Thank you for following up. This issue is resolved. I can't explain the resolution other than describe the process that worked.
I restarted the SP3 install, opened a window to SEARCH the CD drive, found SKU1CA.cab in the S section, went back to the SP3 installation dialog box and it continued without asking for SKU1CA.cab. I don't know why SEARCH the CD drive would be different than EXPLORE (see my first post) but it worked. SEARCH was the only thing I did different than my first installation attempt. |
