![]() Hi everyone I have two queries regarding using headings in outlining view. I will outline the requirement for it. I am creating a master document which will contain a list of different documents, letters, etc. I want one heading for each of the documents. I have placed ASK and REF fields throughout the document which will merge common data all the way through the document. 1. There is one document that will be distinct from all the others and will be placed into the master document each time someone uses it. This is creating a problem. I have set the styles for all of the headings of each document and promoted the ones I was to be headings and demonted the others, etc. But when I enter the distinct document into the master document the headings on this document are all over the place and it then means manually changing the headings each time the document is used. Is there a way of stopping this happening by amending the styles in some way? 2. Secondly, because the master document will have numerous documents in it, for ease of use I would like to have it so that when the document is opened all the documents below the headers are un-expanded. I have tried un-expanding all of the documents by double clicking the + button and then saving the document, but when I re-open it they are all expanded again. Is there a way of stopping this or perhaps a macro to do this? Many thanks in advance. |
