Default Change how windows searches

I am a Windows 7 user.

When performing a search, all files (i.e.: .exe, .docx, .xlsx) are found.

To ensure the same results, please check your search settings by following the instructions below.

1. In the search window select "Organize".

2. Choose "Folder and Search Options".

3. In the "Folder Options" window, check "Show all folders" under the Navigation Pane section.

4. Select the "View" tab.

5. Under the "Hidden files and folders" section, click "Show hidden files, folders, and drives".

6. Choose "Apply" at the bottom.

7. Once this is done, run a general search, and test the new settings.

8. If done correctly, all files, folders and drives will be included in the search result.

Hope this helps.
