Thank you for your reply.

I have used Office 2000 Word and Excel for 20 years on XP, Win6, Win7, and Win10 without problems. I cannot think of anything that doesn't work properly and both applications have been working on two Win10 computers since 2017 without causing any security problems. (Knock on wood!)

I did run into a niggly while installing it on Win10. I simply ignored the error that occurred (3 times, one after the other) and the installation continued to completion without problems on my two Win10 computers.

I am sorry to have to confess that after working the problem for awhile I found that the blank page icons were not shortcuts to Word or Excel files at all, but to internet pages.
