Yes, I ran DISM with the /RestoreHealth switch.
I reran DISM this time with all programs closed. As before, it ran successfully. After again running sfc /scannow, I searched the log for 'corrupt'. All the instances of file corruption that could not be repaired were fragments of a long ago, unintentional install of Avast (at the time, once I realized the presence of Avast and uninstalled the program, a large amount of the software remained. I then installed Avast's tool to remove all and thought it had--apparently not). I'll come back and let you know if the Office problem continues. Thanks again, Mark |
