If I'm not mistaken, running the suggested diagnostics is to repair an already corrupted file(s).


I looked at DISM and determined it's far easier and quicker just to reinstall.


I'm thoroughly protected against and check daily for malware. I do not 'clean' the registry.


I was hoping that others had reported a similar problem over the years with several potential culprits. I guess not.
