Go back to Word and use the usual File/Share/Email/Send as attachment. This creates a second email with the document attached. You can then drag that attachment into the email you were already editing/replying to. The second email can then be deleted.

This method doesn't require the document to be saved anywhere on the disk first (other than in the email itself).
