Hi,
I used to work for a preferred vendor for Microsoft, and at that time, I purchased MS Office Pro 2007. I had a problem with my computer, and had to reformat my drive. Before I reformatted, I backed up my drive onto an external drive- so I have office on that external drive (but it doesnt work from there of course). So now I want to reinstall Office, but I dont have the Product Key. I cant find it; it must have gone to my old work email at the time, and I stupidly didnt forward or write that info down anywhere. I no longer have that old email account. Is there any way to get my product key out of the backup that I made? Thanks in advance for your help. |

I have discovered like most Microsoft applications the seemingly most easy thing to do is difficult or doesn't work. You can find a link regarding Lost or Damaged key thinking if you select this option you will be taken through prompts to contact some-one...but No, you have to read an article first then you have to go through an activation process on My Computer but the only reference there is for the system itself not Office which you are looking for............ Finally got Office installed (by my own resources not Microsofts), tried to activate through the internet but now getting a message that the Activation Site is down and try later... have been trying for two hours still down, still can't use Office. There is an "Activate Later" prompt thinking it would let me use Office until later but this just takes you right back to the beginning of the prompt you were in..........! Just upgraded from XP to 7, have spent all weekend trying to get everything running, try all their super fixes only to end up with a "There is a problem" message (Yes I know, that's why I chose the the fix but what is the problem !!! ![]() Good Luck Creeg, please let us know how you get on !
