Office 2007 activiation

I owned office 2003 on a prior pc that crashed. I purchased a new lap top and it came with office 2007. It is asking for an activation key. Do I have to rebuy office or should my 2003 key work? I have tried microsoft support to no avail?

See if you can just pay for an upgrade

Other options is to purchase a Student Edition
