Yes you can. You have to save your work as a PNG, if you want to keep the graphic as a vector --otherwise you could pick JPG or GIF. To do this select File -> Save for Web & Devices. Then on the window that pops up, you will have some selections on the right. One of the drop down selections is for the extension type -- Select the file extension you would like to use.

You can then insert the image into word.
