How about using Excel for this. Check out the DateDif function that can accomplish exactly what you are looking for. Syntax: =Datedif(datefield one, datefield two, "YY")
where the last option can also be "DD" as in days. This will give you the difference in days.

The Datedif function calculates the difference between two dates - it doesn't really aid in calculating dates.
