Here's what happened:
I have a Windows 7 x64 PC that use to have Home Premium and Excel 2013 and Access 2013 installed. I upgraded it using "Windows Anytime Upgrade" and it corrupted the Excel/Access installations. When opening either it stated "Something went wrong". I instinctively did a quick repair, no luck. So I tried a Internet Repair, after a while of that running it prompted with the error "Something went wrong". I then uninstalled and reinstalled both programs. On the reinstall it said "Background Installation Ran into a Problem". I ran the Microsoft Fix-It on this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501 Hoping it would solve my issue, but no luck. Any ideas why it caused this issue and how to resolve it? Thank you, Comake |

The Fix-It in the link you posted uninstalls Office. You would need to reinstall it after running that. I'd suggest doing a System Restore to a point before the upgrade.
