![]() I have Microsoft Excel 2011 for MAC on my MAC pro laptop and would like to transfer it to my new iMAC desktop. Can anyone tell me if is possible and if so legal. |

That depends on the terms of your Excel/Office licence. If the licence is for a single installation of Office, you cannot use one Office application on one platform and the others on a different platform. In any event, you don't 'transfer' the software - you install it from the installation media/file.

Thanks Paul, However I intend to remove the copy on the Mac laptop and use the licence on the new iMac. The copy I purchased was downloaded from the internet so there was no disc in the Microsoft box. My question is, can I download the the copy again on the new iMac?

You should have kept the downloaded copy. After all, you never know when a system crash might necessitate reinstalling Office. That said, Microsoft provides a means for downloading a backup copy of Office for both PCs and Macs. See: http://products.office.com/en-us/dow...ffice-products.
