Word and Excel configuring
I have the retail Office Ultimate 2007. In windows 7 it starts with no delay. My new computer has Windows 8.1. I reinstalled Office but now each time I start it, it takes time to configure. How do I get it to start without configuring?

If you have multiple versions of Word you need to let the registry know. See Graham Mayor's Toolbars and Word 2007/2010 - dual version registry hack.

Denny: I've merged and relocated both your threads to the Office forum, as it is apparent the same issue is affecting multiple applications and is likely to have a single solution for all of them. Deleting core files just because you're getting an error isn't a smart way to try to fix problems.
Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Programs & Features > Microsoft Office > Change in the Windows Control Panel)?
