My daughter having just returned to university has purchased from Amazon (UK) Office Home and Student 2010 – Disk Version X3 Family Pack. Having checked her new laptop she saw Office 2010 was pre-loaded and therefore used the Product Key to install and activate the licence.
We are also considering the purchase of a new home pc, and have therefore not yet used the disk to install Office 2010 on any other computer. Inside the Office 2010 pack, there is a note stating “Activate your software within 30 days of installation. Save the Product Key(s)!” What does this mean? We are not considering purchasing a new pc or laptop within the next 30 days, therefore when we come to install and activate the software via the disk, will it still load and work, having already activated the pre-loaded software on my daughter’s laptop.??? I have ‘chatted’ to the Microsoft “support” who say the licence will expire if not activated within 30 days, but are unclear about the circumstances described above, i.e. having activated the pre-loaded software on the laptop. I am totally new to this and any other forum so please be patient. |
