My current computer came with Microsoft Office Starter 2010 (Word starter, excel starter, etc.) When I click on any word (i.e. .DOC) or excel (i.e. .XLS) file I get a popup trying to sell me Microsoft Office. When I do a "open with" request and browse, the list of programs does not include Word Starter programs. To open any Word or Excel files I have to go to start, all programs, open the Word Starter program then do file, open, and open the desired file. How can I get the Word Starter programs to appear on the list of programs that appears when I do "open with", and how can I make the Word Starter program the default for Word and Excel files? |

I have solved the problem. I downloaded and installed Kingsoft software. This opens the XLS,XLR, and DOC files.
