I have a form that gets published out onto our sharepoint server.
I did not created this form so I don't know all that is involved with it (rules and such) I have edited it a bit and found that once I installed Office 2010 I have been receiving this error several times when I try to open the form. "An error occurred in the form's rules or code. The number of rule actions or the number of calls to the OnAfterChange event for a single update in the data exceeded the maximum limit. The rules or code may be causing an infinite loop. To prevent this, ensure that the rule action or event handler does not update the data which causes the same rule action or event handler to execute." I uninstalled Infopath 2010 and reinstalled 2007 and I don't receive the error. I reinstalled 2010 and then republished the original form and receive the errors again.... so I verified it is not anything I changed so it leans towards Infopath 2010. So what has changed between Inforpath 2007 and 2010 that would cause this error and how can I fix it. We have several people that will be upgrading to Office 2010 and will be using this form. Thanks, Debbie |

To add....
I opened up our form into 'Infopath2010' and saved it as a 'Infopath filler form' to 2010 instead of 2007. It then showed 1 error in a field stating: Incompatible (Control is not supported in infopath filler form) I googled this and found that I needed to click on the error and delete it from the tree. Then create other 'Control' for it. I was not able to pick anything.... It kept giving me an message.... It cannot be bound to a group, repeated........blah, blah. So I left it deleted and published it anyway without the error and still get the 'infinite loop' errors several time before it will open the form. |

Thanks for your help.
I did what you said but there are so many rules I have not idea what is linked to what and afraid to remove some that might cause other problems. The error states that I have exceeded the limit so I'm figuring there are so many rules pointing towards the same thing or something like that. |
