Default Any way to create sequential merge fields?

I have a document which pulls merge codes from our CRM.

In creating merge codes I have to do up a table in word.
Is there a way to replace the field name?

I tried using the ctrl and H only changes the text not the actual content changes.

So in the attached example I have 50 rows.
The next table I want to create say has FLEETNAME in the first column instead to MTTDNAME
So i need to have <<fleetname-1>> through to -50.

I have tried to create in excel and copy and paste the merge codes without success.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
