You need to study how issues such as mailmerge connections and date formats are handled in the Mailmerge Tips and Tricks 'Sticky' thread at the top of this forum:
https://www.msofficeforums.com/mail-...ps-tricks.html. As you will see from the discussion there, there is no need to use DDE.
