Thanks again Paul ... Whether on my home or work computer, the data source (workbook) is always open while doing the merge. I'll try a repair, but this is a relatively new reinstall (1 month or so) after a new hard drive install. Not saying it might not need a repair, but would wonder whats breaking it with every installation I do.
