Default Mail Merge change of decimal separator

I am trying to calculate a sum of two amounts in merge fields that have points as a decimal separator. It does not work as my Word expects commas. How to change a point into a comma in the merge field?

1) Example with point decimal separator:
{ = { MERGEFIELD sum1 } + {MERGEFIELD sum2 } }
{ = 135515.26 + 20409.38 }
Alt+F9 = > !Syntax Error,

2) Example with comma decimal separator:
{ = 135515,26 + 20409,38 }
ALT+F9 => 155924,64 (correct amount)

Best regards,

The decimal character is determined by Windows regional settings. Your local setting apparently uses the comma. To get this to work with a full stop (period) you will have to change the regional settings; or change the decimal characters in the data source and work with commas.

You could try applying UK or US English language to the document, but without testing my guess is that this won't work.
