The decimal character is determined by Windows regional settings. Your local setting apparently uses the comma. To get this to work with a full stop (period) you will have to change the regional settings; or change the decimal characters in the data source and work with commas.
You could try applying UK or US English language to the document, but without testing my guess is that this won't work.
