Are you merging from a mailmerge main document, or from a template? The latter is liable to generate extra prompts

There is also no need for the ASK field. Try:
{IF{MERGEFIELD Fullname}= "Santa Claus" {FILLIN "What do you want for Christmas?"\o}}
