Take a look at http://www.gmayor.com/individual_merge_letters.htm and http://www.gmayor.com/MergeAndSplit.htm
Both will do what you require. So fast all the work has been done for you

However I will echo Microsoft's recommendation that for most users the 32 bit version of Office is the better option.

Thank you - the first link is actually exactly what I need and I love the functionality to be able to save the output by a certain field. However, I am on a Work computer and not allowed to download the add-in. Is there a non-download option that is available?
