Mulith is on a distinguished road
Default Abbreviated first name

I have a merge field which outputs a users full name as:

John Doe

I'd like to only output:

J Doe

Is this at all possible? I realise this is no perfect solution as the user may well have a first, middle and last name but happy to just split off the abbreviation for the users first name and the rest of the name appear as normal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As per your other thread, the field code that might be used to do this really isn't practical. You should consider having separate fields for first & last names and, since it seems you need it, a separate field for the initials as well.
