Word can support quite elaborate field nesting, but it's not even apparent that's needed here. For your 16 levels, you could have 16 stand-alone IF fields, coded like:
{IF«Score1»= 1 "Text for Score1 1"}{IF«Score1»= 2 "Text for Score1 2"}{IF«Score1»= 3 "Text for Score1 3"}, etc.
{IF«Score2»= 1 "Text for Score2 1"}{IF«Score2»= 2 "Text for Score2 2"}{IF«Score2»= 3 "Text for Score2 3"}, etc.
