Default Sorting a mail merge by a specific number in the document

Hopefully I can explain this. I have a mail merge document with 50 letters. I need to reorder them by a number in the document.

Example line in the text of my letter:

Cordially,

Jane Doe, MD

#jdoe1234

The number that they need to be reordered by is jdoe1234 ascending.
