A member of our club sent me a Word document with several hundred addresses. She wants me to print labels for these addresses. Is there a way I can use this document as a data file or convert it in some way so I don't have to manually enter all the addresses into another database for mail merge?

Surely whoever has the membership database can generate a label merge?? Not exactly rocket science. Taking an existing mailmerge output and trying to turn it back into a data source would involve much more effort.

Thanks. Unfortunately, the person who sent me the document did not create a data file. She has just typed in a list of addresses. Can this list be converted to a Word data file?

In that case, the simplest approach might be to convert the list to a table. The process for doing that depends on how the addresses are formatted. If your could attach a document to a post with some representative data (obfuscate anything sensitive), I'll take a look at it. You can attach a document via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab.

Thanks, I just went ahead and copied and pasted the addresses into a spreadsheet. It took a while and was a pain, but now we have a useable database to work from.
