Wow, I'm feeling egg on face. Really appreciate the push forward.

Not sure why it didn't occur to me that the code had to be executed by the merge process itself and that the preview option does not do that.

Thanks so much Paul. Okay, let me finish formatting my test data source and see if I can try your Merging by Catalog/Directory to E-Mail tutorial.

Hope you won't mind helping me further if I get stuck with that. I am sure that I will add to this thread.

Curious, are there videos or other text sources that detail the catalog/Directory and using the Rules process further?

Yours Tutorial is the best that I have been able to find and I'm glad that you provided it.
