Paul, Thanks for your reply. To answer your question: My mailmerge is configured to use the data source. Good news though. I got it to work. First, I updated Outlook from 2003 to 2010. That change in itself did not correct the problem. A pop-up window in 2003 and 2010 said, "To correct a problem with the fax configuration, review the configuration settings for your fax software and make the appropriate changes." I went to Control Panel | Devices and Printers | Fax | Tools | Fax Settings | General, and checked the boxes for allowing the device to send and receive fax calls. Now, beats me how the fax settings affect the mailmerge, but it worked! I can now send e-mails by mm. The only question I have (rhetorically at this point) is, would it have worked in 2003? Thanks again for your reply.
