use excel in building a interactive web site

I am trying to build a web site to teach some genetics. I would like to use publisher as I have used it before. Does any one know how to use a active work sheet that can have active formulas and lookup tables? I am trying to create inter active punnet squares.

If this can not be done in Publisher is there some other dirt simple way?
