Hello,

last week I installed Office 2010 with a user at our company. Allw ent well, but hes a problem with excel. When he opens excel he can open all files (xls and xlsx). But when he wants to launch an xls file from the explorer, nothing happens. there is no problem with xlsx files.


I already tried the following: DDE is checked out, also everything is checked out in Protected view.
As administrator I don't have any problem. When i give the user admin rights, he still has the same problem.

Does anyone has an idea?

Hi Jvuz,

Have the user input:
Excel.exe /regserver
into the Windows Start|Run dialogue. That often fixes problems of this kind.
