Default Excel Chart Question

In the attached file, I cannot get the structure that I want.

The data is sorted by column B (smallest to largest) and after that is done, I sort the first 20 records by column A.

The reason I do the second sort is that I want the data in column A to be the X axis of the chart (not as a separate series in the chart).

Also, is it possible to select all 103 rows of data but graph by the lowest 20 values in column B only

I hope this is how you want it; In the attached, the chart at cell K2 is a pivot chart. The raw data in columns A & B do NOT need to be in any particular order. The pivot table and chart show only the bottom 20 values from column A (see the filter in cell S2):2025-11-23_142052.jpg

Also, I've edited your chart at cell C2 to show similar data, but this requires your sorting and the selection of just the top 20 rows of data to achieve.

Since you have a version of Excel which has Power Query built in (aka Get & Transform Data) the attached contains a second table created with Power Query which does the same as your sorting and this new table is plotted (twice; once with a true xy scatter plot, and the other a line plot (you can't do a true xy scatter plot from a pivot table)).

If your raw data in columns A & B change, you can update the new table by right-clicking somewhere within it and choosing Refresh.

Incidentally there's also a formula-only approach in cell O2.
