![]() I have a value in cell B21 stating a time of 7:00. This cell is formatted as hh:mm. If I click in the cell and got to the edit bar. I then double click on the hour ‘07’ [Which turns black now] and change the value to 08. I should get 08:00 in that cell. Instead, I get ‘12/08/2024 08:00’ This is because the cell has re-formatted the cell now to dd/mm/yy hh:mm I am sending the before and after spreadsheet. I have repeatedly clicked on the whole column ‘B’ and formatted the entire column to ‘hh:mm’ This has never happened before. This seems to be after a latest MS update. Is there a solution to this or do I now have to repeatedly reformat the cells daily. |

Hi
hh:mm is a duration that is why the formatting changes as far as I understand Instead use a custom format hh.mm;@ ( or hh.mm,@) BTW your SUM functions are redundant e.g. =SUM(E17)+($Q$5/100*1,05) can be written =E17+($Q$5/100*1,05), etc..

Not sure how this works. format hh.mm;@
What is the ;@ for Could you put it into the cell and return it to me. As I said before, this worked before [YEARS] before the latest MS update. |

A little research explains that this makes hh.mm text. As you don't need it for anything else, it's OK. Quote:
