Open the workbook, then on the View tab, choose New Window. You will then have two independent windows open on the same workbook and you can copy paste etc between them. Make sure to close one of them before saving the workbook or it will open up again with two windows (unless that's what you want). |

Hi,
that works, however how do I make that second window a 'read only' else if I inadvertently alter something in it that will also alter my workbook into which I am copying values from it. The prior method of opening the workbook again, made it read only. Cheers DBenz |

Hi, I alter my statement, it doesnt work,
At right I have a sheet for monthly income from investments delivering such, at left I want the sheet showing annual incomings outgoings, from where I will source that data. At left I click the link in the index page for annual IN OUT 2022, and horror, the right hand one becomes that sheet. ![]() How do I make the click on sheet link alter the window the click is made in, and not alter the window at right ? They are one of the same workbooks. The old method had a read only and one could do this above and it only operated on the left workbook, it didnt keep altering the sheets at right. If this is Excel thinking they will make changes for the better, this is a nightmare, links in left workbook alter sheets in right workbook. So is there a way to limit the action to just the left workbook when I click on the hyperlink in that workbook to the sheet in the index page ? DBenz |
