Custom Format not working on cells with formula
I"m a bit rusty in Excel, so this may be a simple issue.
I need to apply a Custom Format to a column with a formula. The formatting works if the cell has a value entered into it, but if it uses a formula (even as simple as just 'A1'), the format doesn't work. Is there something I'm missing that will allow me to apply a custom format to a cell that has a formula? Edit: I have fixed my issue with brute-force by doing all of the formatting within the formula (it's now a pretty long formula, but it works), and I may keep this solution, but I would like to know if there's a reason why I can't apply a custom format to a formula. |

You can apply a custom format to a formula (though 'A1' is not a formula) result, though it will apply to the entire result, not simply parts of it.
What is the formula and what custom format are you trying to use? |
