An update on this thread. A friend of mine managed to figure out the formula to match temperature data to coral cover data with the nearest latitude and longitude, but he was unsure of how to add date to the formula. If anyone can add date to this formula, so that each temperature data point is matched to the closest longitude, latitude and date, that would be really great. I've attached his spreadsheet to this post. The formula that my friend made which matches temperature data to coral cover data with the nearest longitude and latitude is in cell J2.
