Thank you problem now solved
here is the solution giving results in columns D & E

=IF(ISERROR(FIND("i",A2)),A2,LEFT(A2,FIND("i",A2)-1))

=IF(A2<>D2,RIGHT(A2,LEN(A2)-LEN(D2)),"")
