Default Problem Formatting My Charts

I'm using Excel 2000. On worksheet 5 I clicked one of the dates, then clicked Format Axis. A Format Axis box appeared and I clicked Scale. I got what I wanted (see the first image). That's good. I can specify a start and a stop date for my chart.

In the same file but on worksheets 1 through 4, the Scale tab in the Format Axis box contains different parameters (see the second image), and I cannot set my start and stop dates. That's not good.

I've spent hours comparing the two worksheets, trying to figure this out, but have had no success. What do I need to do on worksheets 1 through 4 so that the Scale tab in the Format Axis box looks like the first image?
