![]() I have an Excel document where I am inserting information about booking certain rooms in a building. We have a certain amount of days available that we can book rooms. For example, we are permitted only 35 weekdays room bookings rentals dates. I want to show on my Excel document that anytime I fill in a row with a new booking date information, there is a cell with a number that always goes down with the remaining number of rental days available. I am wondering what is the best way to show this. Last edited by oliboi; 01-24-2019 at 09:01 AM. |

Assistance would be more likely (and accurate) if you attach a sample sheet of what you're working with.

Thank you for the trouble, but I think NoS asked for a sheet , not a picture (click Go advanced - Manage attachments - follow the wizard)

I think what you're after is the NETWORKDAYS function as it excludes weekends (and can exclude holidays).
see https://exceljet.net/formula/get-workdays-between-dates You are aware that what you have in column C is text and not real dates, right ? All of which are in the past and don't have any weekdays remaining. Should it be that you have another column for the length of the bookings or something ? Perhaps you can elaborate as to what you're after. |

I might actually also add weekends in the future so I guess NETWORKDAYS function will not work for me.
Yes, I have text for dates. I was trying to figure out how to put an actual calendar there (so I don't have to write the date everytime) but I haven't figured that out yet. Yes, I will have another column for the length of the bookings. |
