Default Inserting an automated page numbers in multiple sheets

My knowledge of VBA is next to nil. I need a macro that automates the insertion of simple page numbers 1 2 3 4 at the footer (center) of multiple sheets. My workbook contains several worksheets that I update and print every month. There should be an option to start the page number of the first page at any number other than 1, say 8.
