I suppose this formula is used to extract values from a range based on a common value?
If so, there is probably no alternative to an array formula except VBA using a filter .
Perhaps post a sample sheet ( go advanced - manage attachments) showing the formula and desired results

Edit perhaps setting calcs to manual?
