Default cannot drag fields to pivot table


in window Choose fields to add to report the box is checked. On left, the value fields are listed next to a window Drop Value Fields Here. When dragged into it the cells remain empty. ............ Excel 2010 family on Win 10 laptop

You also have to drag the field to the "Values" area. By default it's probably the Count function that appears. If not, right click on it and change the function

... That the problem. It's not allowing me to drag the fields into the "Values" area.

Can you post the sheet itself (no pics) - Click - Go advanced - Manage attachments

FYI "Go advanced" is the button under the window that opens when you click the " Quick reply" button.
This being said, everything works perfectly
